who we are
Summit Music is the worship community at Summit Church, San Marcos, California.
Our heart is to seek the presence of God and see the Kingdom of Heaven come to Earth. We are people all about the authentic and passionate worship of Jesus Christ, and our hope is that the songs that we write together would help others encounter God's grace and goodness, as continuous as waves coming to shore.
"For from His fullness we have all received, grace upon grace." - John 1:16 (ESV)
Andrew Hopkins is the lead worship pastor at Summit Church. He has been leading worship for over a decade in his local church, at various events and in the nations. He is a songwriter and has a passion for revival and the gospel. Andrew has also earned a Bachelor of Arts in Christian Studies in Worship from Vision International University. He is married to the beautiful Rochelle and they have one happy son, Hunter.
He also serves as the College Pastor for the college ministry. His passion to see revival manifest on the college campuses is contagious! He excels in equipping people to go out and change their community through preaching and impartation.
Matt serves as a Worship Pastor and songwriter at Summit Church and primarily leads worship for the Sunday morning services. Matt has led worship since he was a teenager, in his hometown near Toronto, Canada, beginning with his youth group as well as Sunday morning services.
Matt's hope as he writes music is that it encourages and builds the local church, and inspires the family of God to worship Him in freedom, joy, and unity. He is a graduate of Catch The Fire's School of Ministry in London, and Biola University in California, and has been married to Annie Steingard since 2005.
Annie is a worship leader and songwriter at Summit Church, frequently leading for the Sunday morning services. Primarily raised in San Diego, where her father has pastored for over thirty years, and has led worship since her teens.
Annie's songs reflect her to desire be in the presence of God's holiness, and to see Him be glorified. Her vertically aimed anthems always seem to cause the church to break out in praise and celebration. She is a graduate of Catch The Fire's School of Ministry in London, where she also met her husband Matt.
Danielle leads worship for the Crux college ministry, and frequent Sunday morning services at Summit Church. Her love for God and to make Him famous is inspirational, and her heart is to go to the nations with a guitar strapped to her back and God's love in her heart. Danielle's worship is truly authentic and consistently leads people into the presence of God.
